Meditation is a practice to train our mind to get mentally clear, emotionally calm and stable state.
In today’s world, meditation helps us to keep away from diseases such as stress, depression, etc.
There are many types of meditation but most have four elements in common:

  • posture(sitting,lying etc)
  • a quiet location
  • focus or attention
  • an open attitude (face distraction naturally)

Major techniques of meditation are:

1.Zazen

zazen refers to zen or sitting meditation.
It is a traditional Buddhist discipline. Zazen is originated in India by lord buddha 2500 years ago.
There are many postures to practice in Zazen meditation such as Burmese position, half lotus position, seiza position, chair position.
It helps to observe and let go of thoughts. Zazen gives deep relaxation to our mind.
It involves focusing on breathing. It will be put difficult at first its practice helps to clear the mind.

2.Qigong

It is pronounced as”chee-gong” in Chinese. Qigong originated 4000 years ago. Qigong is an ancient Chinese exercise and healing technique.
This includes meditation, controlled breathing, and movement exercise.
It is a practice to cultivate energy in our body and energy is called “qi”.
According to the research, qigong provides our body’s energy and flow it into the core for body healing power.
Qigong is basically about the smooth flow of energy throughout the body. Any issues such as stress, headache are symptoms of stuck energy(not being flow). Therefore, it helps us to keep away from these issues.
